3 Ways to Breathe New Life into Your Home for Spring

3 Ways to Breathe New Life into Your Home for Spring

At long last, you can pull back the drapes and let in that refreshing spring breeze into your winter-chilled home. You may not have to remain within the four walls of your home anymore, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore it completely.

Here are some ways you can breathe new life indoors as nature welcomes spring with open arms outdoors:

1. Start by De-Cluttering

An untidy space is a source of constant stress and you may not even be aware of it. So before touching up the décor, the first thing you need to do is de-clutter and restore tranquility to your home. Go through the clothes and personal items you have and start sorting them into three boxes – one for items you need, the second for trash and the third for items you want to donate.

Plus, place all your winter wear in storage boxes so you have space in your closet for bright and light spring wear. Once you have a clean slate to work with, you will be in a more relaxed state of mind and open to new décor ideas.

2. Bring in the Flowers

Bring spring into your home by adding bouquets of fresh, seasonal flowers to your home décor. These can be anything from fresh daffodils and tulips to hyacinths, depending on the color scheme of your home. The best thing about this is that it is quite easy.

All you need is a vase and you can place one in every room if you want to. You don’t need to stick to a certain style. You can go with bud vases if you prefer to remain minimalist or with large, decorative vases that can act as elaborate centerpieces for your entryway.

3. Add a Pop of Color

When you think of this season, you think of color. Color permeates everything – from your outfits to your mood – so it makes sense that it should also be introduced to your home. You don’t have to go overboard in bringing in random colorful items. You can add yellow lamps or brightly colored throw pillows on your sofas to make a room come alive.

Here is a simple tip that is as practical as it is inexpensive. It doesn’t matter how you do it, just make sure there is at least one brightly colored item in each room. You don’t have to blow your budget. Update your throw pillows by covering them with bright covers or paint your plant pots in spring colors. Less is more in this case.
